What is a button battery

Button battery refers to a battery that looks like a button, which is actually a lithium battery. Lithium is the lightest metal, so lithium batteries have the advantages of light weight, durability, high stability and long-lasting power. The disadvantage is that the power is small and the cost is high. Therefore, the use is mostly limited to precision instruments.

Button batteries are also very common batteries, small in size and many models. There are several common button batteries according to their chemical composition: carbon, alkaline, zinc-silver oxide, zinc-air, lithium-manganese dioxide, nickel-cadmium rechargeable button batteries, nickel-hydrogen rechargeable button batteries, etc. According to the shape, there is a distinction between a single body and a stack.

Carbon button batteries are the most common and cheapest. Alkaline batteries are a bit more expensive, but have a good discharge effect. Mostly used in calculators, electronic toys, hearing aids, lighters, watches, etc.
