Lithium market changes with the seasons?
In a statement on Monday, Galaxy Resources Ltd claimed that lithium battery prices and demand for lithium{{0}}ion battery products, including electric vehicles, are beginning to show seasonal trends. According to the data, as of April 23, the price of lithium carbonate has fallen by 12.5 percent in 2018, and the price of lithium hydroxide has fallen by 0.7 percent .
The market for lithium chemicals remains very tight, which will continue to support a strong price outlook, with lithium carbonate prices up 13.4 percent from a year ago.

The falling cost of energy storage technology is boosting the use of battery storage, which is expected to provide significant upside for lithium demand, Galaxy said.
In the preceding three months, Galaxy Resources Ltd's sales fell to 44,258 tonnes from 58,094 tonnes in the first quarter of 2018.
